This article describes the operation of the specific automation ''When collection with order type something is created, plan collection automatically on stage something on expiration date plus/minus number of working days''.
Are you looking for an explanation of what automation is and where to set it? Feel free to look in the article How automations work?
How does this automation work?
With this automation you can ensure that orders from your linked ERP application are automatically scheduled on the deadline in a stage of your planning board. The type of orders are for example:
production orders
purchase orders
sales orders
offers
projects
This automation is very useful when, for example, you want to follow the arrival of your orders (purchase orders) in a separate logistic planning board, or when you want to schedule sales orders automatically two weeks before your delivery date.
The parameters you set are order type, stage, and plus/minus number of days.
Order type: First choose which order type your automation applies to.
Stage: Choose at which stage of your planning board you want to schedule the orders automatically.
Plus/Minus: Choose whether you want to plan before or after the expiration date.
Days (optional): Choose the number of days you want to plan before or after the expiration date.
Example:
A production company only plans the sales orders from their ERP application in vPlan. The company wants to plan automatically as much as possible. They know that they always have to start production two weeks before the product is delivered.
You can then set up your automation as follows:
Tip: This automation works nicely together with other automations, such as Automatic activity add when card is created in a stage.
